Some new painted furniture
Ok, so we had such fun last weekend painting, that we decided to go at it again :)
I bought a second hand headboard for R100 in plain pine and mixed the blue paint until I got the shade I liked. (painting in colour is a very bold move for me) I distressed it slightly back down to the white undercoat and in place to the bare wood. I figured that a design would look nice on the top, so I designed a vinyl decal using my silhouette cameo - I LOVE how it turned out and my little Samantha is stoked with her new bedhead :)

Side Tables Re-furbish
For awhile now I've been wanting to paint some of my furniture at home. I figured the little side tables in our lounge were long overdue for a makeover, and a small enough project for me to tackle over the weekend. I enlisted the help of Paige and Sam who were eager to learn how to use the orbital sander and paint away. I'm really happy with the end result, however these pics aren't that great as they were taken on my cell phone, but you get the idea... French typography image from Graphic Fairy

Easter cupcakes
I just had to share these cute little cupcakes my mom and girls made and decorated for Easter. The basket handles were a bit floppy, but that didn't stop them from going on. Samantha took the photo after she had added some props for her bedroom.... too cute <3

My Granny Squares Cushion in the making!
Ok so this post is especially for my friend Jude who desperately wants to see my colour choices of cotton.
I started this little project towards the end of 2011, but alas it has been lying in my work basket in my lounge ever since (which btw is bigger than the one pictured!). The idea was to stitch the squares onto a cream cushion cover for Samantha's bedroom, hopefully with winter around the corner, I'll be pulling out all my wooly supplies and playing hooky again :)

| I used the hand dyed Vinnis Colours for the squares, definately the best selection of colours for us here in SA. |
